World Trade Centre Vancouver

The Story

As the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade prepared to launch the World Trade Centre Vancouver brand, GEM was invited to offer advice on promoting the Trade Accelerator Program (TAP), World Trade Centre Vancouver’s core program.

The World Trade Centre’s mandate is to strengthen the export performance of small- and medium-sized businesses in British Columbia by providing targeted international trade advisory services and expertise through trade education, connections and comprehensive research.

TAP participants receive export strategy education, expert mentorship and support to create an export plan. The purpose of the promotional video was to introduce TAP along with the program’s proven results, highlighting the opportunity of successful export and inviting businesses to register for educational programs.

The Campaign

To do this, GEM developed a short animated explainer video. The video was tailored to digital distribution, with a powerful call-to-action for businesses to register for TAP.

GEM was able to turn around production in a very short timeline to coincide with the launch of the World Trade Centre Vancouver brand. Since then, the video has been extensively viewed at events, on the WTC Vancouver website and in social media.

Following the launch, World Trade Centre Vancouver was able to successfully fill the first cohort of the TAP program. GEM was invited to be an expert presenter and mentor for these companies.

In addition, following the video’s debut, GEM was introduced to the World Trade Center Toronto, which also offers the Trade Accelerator Program in Ontario. WTC Toronto was impressed and asked GEM to adapt the video for its own use.
