The Etymology of GEM Advertising
Posted Wednesday October 29th, 2014 by Peter Kozodoy in Analysis + Strategy.Recently we were asked how we chose GEM as the banner of our mighty brand. So, without further ado, here is the story of GEM Advertising:
GEM stands for Global Entertainment and Media. When we started, we knew three things: first, that we wanted to go global (mission accomplished!). Secondly, we wanted our content to entertain, inspire, and otherwise delight. Finally, we set out to be experts in media, which includes best practices, relevant technologies, and targeted methodologies for our clients.
As we evolved the company into a full-service advertising agency in 2011, it made sense to merge our acronym with Advertising. That’s when GEM Advertising was reborn.
So, what now? We have big plans for where GEM will go next. For now, it’s our new office in Vancouver, BC. Next year, who knows? In this case, the etymology isn’t yet complete.
What’s your brand evolution story?
