Clever Creative: Beer. Shampoo. Repeat.
Posted Friday December 15th, 2017 by Gia Manalio-Bonaventura in Creativity + Art.Over the years, craft brewing has become a major phenomena and the number of different beers out there is astounding. So when a marketing company really wants to stand out among the other 99+ bottles of beer on the wall, they really have to give their consumers something to get excited about. And Swedish ad agency Snask and Pangpang Brewery have done just that. Get ready, guys: Shower Beer is here.
Now to be fair, people have been talking about shower beer for a long time — as in drinking a beer in the shower. Also an American company has released their own “Shower Beer,” so like with any good competition, there is some controversy attached to this Swedish campaign. In fact, unbeknownst to Snask at the time, there is a whole community of shower beer drinkers. But the thing that sets Snask's product apart from the others is the amount of thought that has gone into its marketing, specifically the packaging.
It’s All by Design
Snask’s Shower Beer is literally designed for the shower, particularly to give you a head start on the night with three or four gulps of 10% alcohol. Not to worry, the bottle itself is only 6 ounces so if you stick to one bottle, you should make it out with no problem. Of course we all urge you to drink responsibly. There’s nothing wrong with having your shower beer then relaxing at home for the rest of the evening. For some of us, that is an even better idea.
The bottle itself and the beer’s aroma are crafted to remind consumers of shampoo, and by the way, beer shampoo is an actual thing. As for the actual shape, the founders explain: “We want the Shower Beer to be seen by being slender, elegant and different.” You may not think that the words “elegant” and “shower beer” would go together, but we think that it’s an accurate description. See for yourself:
Shower Beer: Not Just for the Shower
Snask knows that people love a good beer while they’re out too, and the arey currently working with regulations and laws for a wider distribution. In an interview in Adweek, brewers tell us that “in Stockholm, you’ll find it in various bars as well as in the minibars in the rooms of a hotel.”
So rest assured that while you may not be able to get it just yet, without a plane ticket, Snask’s Shower Beer is brewing.
